Anishinaabe Families

To learn about the plants and techniques used to make baskets, mats, and other woven items, Jones interviewed Anishinaabe families.  Where possible, he also observed the process of harvesting the plants, preparing them for weaving, and the creation of the finished pieces. He conducted extensive interviews with families and individuals in Anishinaabe communities in Ontario, specifically Bkejwanong, or Walpole Island, and Ketegaunseebee, known also as the Garden River Reserve.
